The interconnect
market is growing with the growth in number and size of the different
telecom operators. All operators with own infrastructure need at
least one interconnect agreement with another operator - usually
they have several agreements. The interconnect costs for the operators
are enormous and typically amount to more than half of the company’s
expenses. At the same time the underlying technology is often not
easily accessible for non-technicians. Paradoxically it’s
often only a few people who understand interconnect and the income
and expenses related to it. What is interconnect, which pits are
there and how do I get the optimal use of my interconnect agreements?
